Certificate of Discharge

The bankruptcy period is usually 4 years. For a bankrupt who has not previously been adjudged bankrupt and has fully complied with the provisions under the Bankruptcy Ordinance, and provided that there is no objection from the creditors and the trustees, he or she will be automatically discharged from bankruptcy after 4 years from the date of the bankruptcy order. However, if the bankrupt has previously been adjudged bankrupt, the relevant period is 5 years.

Even if your bankruptcy period (usually 4 years) has ended, you are still required to apply for a Certificate of Discharge. Our firm can assist you in applying for a Certificate of Discharge.
