Enforcement of Mainland judgement in HK
According to Mainland Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) Ordinance, Cap. 597, as far as commercial contracts are concerned, a judgment creditor who has obtained a Mainland final judgment in his/her favor may apply to the Court of First Instance of the High Court to have the Mainland judgment recognized in Hong Kong.
Application for recognition and enforcement of a Mainland judgment is 2 years from the last day of the period for performance specified in such judgment or the date from which the judgment takes effect.
A recognized Mainland judgment shall have the same force as a judgment given by the Hong Kong Courts.
